Unfair sending off and probably because the rest of hawkings show no ferrocity in the tackle. It is a bunch of lads playing football for fun but with weak tackles come injuries and defeat. Need to show more heart and commitment. Following the sending off Chris did show an interest in the game and ran his arse off to retrieve the ball in many circumstances when the others would just be weak and jog back. He also set up many other chances on returning. He lost the ball in the first half when others were free due to not having ball under control and in many similar circumstances in the same game did pass and if finishes were better then maybe this would be less of a talking point. Ref ruined the game but Hawkings need to play in the spirit of it being a MANS game. With the referee saying at the end of the game " it was a harsh sending off and it was their reaction more than anything " this incident will be put to rest.

It was an unfortunate action, with two guys going for the same ball and a clash of shins - certainly no foul, and no blame attached to the Norfolk player. As Adam says, credit to the opposition in this, and the quick thinking of the referee and the UCLAN staff.

As Richard Powells Agent, Close friend and Brother i would like to thank the support he recieved by Steven Hawkings, The opposition, the referee and the ambulance through his "darkest hour" yesterday. this was a horrific accident, as i didnt see it, i cannot complain about the tackle, but i am grateful that the player who went in for the 50/50 with him, apologised after. Just to let everybody know, Richard suffered a snapped tibula and 3 breaks in the fibia. he is in hospital right now at Preston, he is in a full leg plastar and they are keepin him under watch for a few days. i just want to make it aware to Steven Hawkings, that Richard will return, stronger than ever!
